Mohamed Hasan

A Libyan artist born in the city of Khoms in 1946, one of the most important Libyan singing voices and composers to emerge in the 1960s. He began his career singing in artist Hassan Areibi's choir, was nicknamed "the ambassador of Libyan song", and composed works for Arab singers including Warda, Samira Said and Assala. Among his best-known songs are "Ysallem Alaik El Agel" and "Mokhi Ya Om Gsas Twila". He was also known for pioneering the concept of Libyan musical epics celebrating the country’s cultural heritage, including "Al-Naj", "Al-Waha", and "Rihlat Nagham". He died on 18 December 2017.

فنان ليبي وُلد في مدينة الخمس عام 1946، ويعتبر الفنان الأكبر في تاريخ ليبيا ومن أهم الأصوات الغنائية والملحنين الليبيين الذين ظهروا في ستينات القرن الماضي. بدأ مسيرته منشدًا ضمن كورال الفنان حسن عريبي، ولُقّب ب"سفير الأغنية الليبية"، ولحّن أعمالًا لمطربات عربيات منهن وردة وسميرة سعيد وأصالة. من أشهر أغانيه "يسلم عليك العقل" و"نخي يا أم قصاص طويلة"، اشتهر بتكوين فكرة الملاحم الغنائية الليبية التي تتغني بالتراث الليبي مثل "النجع"، "الواحة"، "رحلة نغم" توفي في 18 ديسمبر 2017.
