About the artist

Poet Abdullah Mohamed Mansour al-Sulaimani was born in 1956 in the Harawa area east of Sirte. He studied at a military college and later trained in Russia, and his first published poem was "Ala Rih al-Hawa wal-Shawq." He wrote lyrics performed by dozens of Libyan and Arab singers, including Mohamed Hassan, Nasif Mahmoud, Khalifa al-Zlitni, Samira Said and Latifa. He also headed Libya's national radio and helped establish festivals such as the Malouf Festival and the Libyan Song Festival.

الشاعر عبدالله محمد منصور السليماني، ولد عام 1956 في منطقة هراوة شرقي سرت. درس في الكلية العسكرية وتلقى دورات تكوينية في روسيا، وكانت باكورة إنتاجه الشعري قصيدة "على ريح الهوى والشوق". كتب كلمات أغنيات لعشرات الفنانين الليبيين والعرب مثل محمد حسن وناصف محمود وخليفة الزليطني وسميرة سعيد ولطيفة. تولى إدارة الإذاعة الليبية وأسس مهرجانات فنية منها مهرجان المالوف ومهرجان الأغنية الليبية.
