عمر المخزومي

عمر المخزومي، واسمه الحقيقي عمر الصادق مسعود الخازمي الورفلي، مطرب ليبي من رواد الأغنية الشعبية، من مواليد 1932 في مدينة بنغازي. خدم في الجيش الليبي عند أول تكوين له سنة 1953 ووصل إلى رتبة رئيس عرفاء، ثم بدأ مسيرته الفنية في الإذاعة الليبية خلال الستينيات وتعامل مع عدد من كتاب الأغنية والملحنين الليبيين. من أشهر أغانيه شقيت في غيابه من كلمات محمد مخلوف وألحان عبد الحميد شادي، إضافة إلى جيتي وجيتينا وصون الغلا ويا طير يا حايم. أُعدم شنقا في ميناء بنغازي سنة 1977 بتهمة تفجير الميناء، وطُمس أرشيفه الفني من الإذاعة بعد ذلك.

Omar Makhzoumi, whose real name was Omar al-Sadiq Masoud al-Khazimi al-Warfalli, was a Libyan singer and a pioneer of Libyan popular song, born in 1932 in Benghazi. He served in the Libyan army from its first formation in 1953, reaching the rank of sergeant major, then began his artistic career on Libyan radio in the 1960s, working with a number of Libyan lyricists and composers. His best known songs include Shaqeet fi Ghiyabuh, written by Muhammad Makhlouf and composed by Abdulhamid Shadi, along with Jiti wa Jitina, Sawn al-Ghala and Ya Tayr Ya Hayem. He was executed by hanging at the port of Benghazi in 1977 on a charge of bombing the port, and his recordings were removed from radio afterwards.
