محمد خليل مطرب ليبي واسمه الحقيقي محمد الدهماني، بدأ مسيرته الفنية سنة 1959 حين قدمه الملحن محمد الدهماني إلى الإذاعة ولحّن له أغلب أعماله. اشتهر في مطلع الستينيات بأغنية "تمشي على شط البحر" من كلمات عمر المزوغي وألحان محمد الكعبازي، كما قدّم سنة 1969 أنشودة "بشائر يا ليبي" من كلمات بشير أحمد وألحان محمد الدهماني، إلى جانب الأغنية الدينية "يا ربنا اغفر لنا". لم يتفرغ للغناء لأنه كان يعمل خياطاً، فلم تتجاوز أعماله نحو أربعين أغنية، لكنه غنى من ألحان كبار الملحنين الليبيين مثل كاظم نديم ومحمد المرشان وإبراهيم أشرف وعثمان نديم. آخر أعماله قصيدة البردة التي غناها ولحّنها بنفسه، وقد توفي في العقد الأول من الألفية الثانية.
Mohamed Khalil was a Libyan singer whose real name was Mohamed al-Dahmani. He began his career in 1959 when the composer Mohamed al-Dahmani introduced him to radio and wrote most of his melodies. He became well known in the early 1960s with "Tamshi ala Shatt al-Bahr", written by Omar al-Mazoughi and composed by Mohamed al-Kabbazi, and in 1969 he recorded the anthem "Bashayer Ya Libi", written by Bashir Ahmed and composed by al-Dahmani, alongside the devotional song "Ya Rabbana Ighfir Lana". He never worked as a full-time singer because he ran a tailor's shop, so his output stayed at around forty songs, though they were composed by leading Libyan composers including Kazem Nadim, Mohamed al-Marshan, Ibrahim Ashraf and Othman Nadim. His last recording was the Burda ode, which he both sang and composed himself, and he died in the 2000s.
